Upcoming MERSEA missions for the week of the 27th April 2026

Inspection diving mission as part of Operation CARBOREEF:

From April 27 to 30: Study of impacts on primary carbon production (more information in “Theses”) and scientific monitoring of artificial reefs in Cherbourg harbor and on the EAST breakwater (interior and exterior) And Inspection diving operations, sampling, observation…

Operations are carried out when weather conditions are favorable, depending on the tides.

The personnel mobilized are:

  • Richard Farizon (pilot and diver), Léo Chasselin (surface support and safety), Pascal Claquin (diver), Maël Deloor (diver), Léa Queste (student), Camille Carpentier (diver), and Clara Massinot.

This mission includes sample collection in Cherbourg on April 29 (10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.).

At the same time, a mission is taking place in Bangkok (Thailand), at Mahidol University: PhD defense delivered by Mrs. Céline Zatylna Gaudin, Director of the MERSEA laboratory (April 27 to May 7).
