Research themes

Ecology and population dynamics of Cephalopods exploited by fisheries. Modeling and stock assessment. Recruitment, spatio-temporal variations in abundance, and environmental factors. Habitat of pre-recruited stages and migrations. Size structure, growth and age determination, statoliths, and environmental tracers. Position within trophic networks.

  • Reserve Member of the Cephalopod International Advisory Council (CIAC) (2022–2025).
  • Co-Chair of the Cephalopod Fisheries and Life History working group of ICES (2014–2016 and 2017–2019). Member of this group currently.
  • AERES Expert for the evaluation of a UMR (2013)
  • Expert for the DFG (German Research Foundation) for a German-Peruvian project (2011)
  • Expert for the DEFRA for a CEFAS project (2011)
  • Expert for the ANR (French National Research Agency) for a “Young Researcher” project (2010).

Admin responsabilities

  • Elected since 2011 to the Technical Committee (CT) of the University of Caen Basse-Normandie (SGEN-CFDT list)
  • Information Systems Security Correspondent (for the Caen site of the UMR-BOREA) and GDPR Relay for the Faculty of Sciences (UFR des Sciences)
  • Appointed in 2012 as a member of the Regional Scientific Council for Natural Heritage of Basse-Normandie (Conseil Scientifique Régional du Patrimoine Naturel de Basse-Normandie).
  • Scientific Lead for Caen’s participation in the following European projects:
