MERSEA – Final Missions Before the Summer Closure…

As the University will be closed from the evening of 24 July until 17 August,
there will be fewer field missions over the coming two weeks. ⛱️

However, a deep-water seaweed collection is scheduled for Wednesday 15 July and Thursday 16 July (Saint-Aubin intertidal zone, followed by Langrune) with Wendy DIRUIT and Jérémy BENHAMOU.
As a reminder, as part of several research projects, we conduct monitoring and collection of seaweed populations, which involves field surveys on intertidal shores. Seaweed is collected mainly by hand. These intertidal areas are regularly visited by recreational fishers.
This week, depending on weather conditions, a scientific diving mission is planned for 16/07/2026 or 17/07/2026 as part of the Sarg’Alien project, with Pascal Claquin, Léo Chasselin, and Jérémy Benhamou.
[Scientific survey of sargassum beds and other algal species. Underwater observations, measurements, sampling, light handling of equipment, and photo/video documentation.]

Additional missions will be announced in this post…
